Hiking Trip: Steni Evias (17.12.2017)

8:00 am-21:00 pm,  Sunday 17/12/2017,  Steni Evias

Would you like to (re)discover some amazing favourite parts of our beloved country? Join us on a cool hiking adventure, exploring the beautiful Greek countryside!

Mount Dirfi is the tallest of Evia island, with a characteristic steep conical shape, especially gorgeous when snow capped. The village of Steni (415m) serves as the starting point of the trails leading to the Dirfi refuge (maintained by the local mountaineering club of Chalkida), and further on to the Dirfi (1743m) and Xerovouni (1412m) peaks. Steni is of course also famous for its many taverns, serving mostly meat delicacies to its many visitors. The area has several springs, of which the Doctor’s Fountain is the most known. A few kilometres before the village, you will find the church of Ag. Kyriaki, carved in the stone slope, with a small but very picturesque waterfall pool next to it, served by a nice cafe.

People that do not wish to participate in the hiking part, are welcome to join and instead spend their time free exploring the surrounding area. As always, the trip will take place regardless of the number of participants (no minimum required).
